687, bitches…

I'm feeling good about this weekend. I've got a coupla parties to attend, some people to see, some drinks to drink. I'm going back up to Wisconsin to do some (more) boating and fishing and eating. One last hurrah before I welcome in my personal favorite season.

You see, the nice thing about fall is that you can be inside or outside and still be content. During the summer, on a Saturday, I might be tired (read: hung over) and just wanna sit on the couch all day and watch a golf tournament or play Xbox. The problem is that it will usually be a beautiful day outside and I end up feeling guilty about staying hidden behind my blinds until the sun sets. But during the fall, you see, it's comfortable inside and outside. So basically, it's just a really nice way for me to justify my weekend laziness.

Oh, and as much as I love showing off my biceps during the warm months, I love wearing jackets and sweaters. So there's that, too.

And speaking of fall, Wes just e-mailed me asking about my Halloween costume this year. We're starting early this year, and it's gonna be sweet…

Now, on another note, I have a confession to make.

I have an Xbox 360 in my apartment. I've always loved videogames and all things related, even when I was only 5 years old. I find them to be relaxing and healing and healthy. I've always had a crazy-active imagination, and games give me some release for that, and I am grateful, because I go a little crazy when I am stuck in the "real world" for too long.

Anyway, I am currently playing this game called Table Tennis. Yeah, it's Ping Pong. It might sound lame, but it's fuckin' sweet. You can put all kinds of spin on the ball and you can smash it or hit it soft or do crazy complex serves and everything. Think Forrest Gump.

I play other people over the Internet and it's crazy. I spend hours and hours and hours playing this game. I'm pretty much obsessed and I can lose myself in it completely, ignoring the phone and everything else. It's the ultimate Zen-like experience.

There are world rankings and, currently, out of over 15,000 players in the world, I am ranked number 687. I've never been really great at anything in my life, but guess what?

I fucking kick ass at Table Tennis.

No intervention necessary. My Xbox is on the fritz, anyway. Damn new technology...

I don't trust all those new systems. I want a Nintendo with Super Mario Bros. or an Atari so I can play Mrs. PacMan and Fogger. That's about all I can handle.

Fogger? I've never heard of that one...now Frogger is one I know...and i suck at it. I'm pretty good at Mario Bros. I can get past the second or third level!!

I'm glad to see you back and posting, Lucas!

I wish I kicked ass at table tennis. I am jealous and afeared of your gifts.

Oh, you know I meant Frogger. And ironically enough I played super mario bros this weekend and I remembered how to warp to the different levels, it was pretty exciting.
